Solaris Administrator - 6 months | London, UK - Inside IR35
We are looking for an experienced Solaris Administrator to support and maintain Oracle Solaris 10 and 11 environments, including Legacy applications, for a leading technology services organisation. The role is office-based in London, 5 days per week on the customer's site, on a 6-month contract.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer, maintain and support Oracle Solaris 10 and 11 environments
- Provision, migrate and troubleshoot Solaris Zones (global and non-global)
- Install, configure, patch, upgrade and harden Solaris Servers
- Monitor performance, capacity and availability, and resolve OS-level incidents and problems
- Manage filesystems, storage, users, backups and system recovery
- Support Legacy applications on Solaris and work with application teams on deployments
- Maintain documentation, SOPs and runbooks
- Join the on-call rota and help resolve major incidents
What You Will Ideally Bring:
- Strong hands-on Oracle Solaris 10 and 11 experience
- Solaris Zones, ZFS, SMF, Solaris networking and boot prompts
- OS troubleshooting, performance tuning, patch management and system security
- Experience supporting enterprise production environments
- ITIL processes: incident, change and problem management
- Shell Scripting (KSH/Bash) (advantageous)
- Legacy infrastructure experience (desirable)
- Storage, backup and virtualisation exposure (desirable)
Contract Details:
- Duration: 6 months
- Rate: £425 per day - Inside IR35
- Location: London Office
- Start Date: ASAP
