Operational Lead - EPR Programme
Job summary
This role is only open to applicants that currently work within an NHS Trust within the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Integrated Care System (HIOW ICS).
Hampshire and the Isle of Wight Acute Care Collaborative have come together as part of the Integrated Care Board (ICB) as an Acute Provider Collaborative (APC) to invest in Electronic Patient Record (EPR) functionality. This is to meet the needs of our whole ICS population, recognising that the organisation of clinical care needs to change and develop radically in order to meet the challenges we face.
Working within the EPR Programme governance framework, the post holder will be accountable, on behalf of the Chief Operating Officers across the four Trusts, for providing high-level leadership and planning for operational teams, to enable the safe, effective implementation of the EPR. The focus will be on digital transformation, ensuring the potential benefits are embedded in a culture of safety and productivity gains.
The post holder will be required to engage key stakeholders across the programme to ensure that existing operational and administrative workflows across all the trusts are captured and assessed for potential standardisation opportunities. Work with the teams in the creation of new EPR workflows that are fit for purpose and will meet the needs of patients, achieve set and agreed standards, and deliver financial targets. The role will include a mix of home and cross site working.
Main duties of the job
- To be responsible for the operational leadership and governance of the procurement and implementation stages of the transition to a new single EPR. Ensure that pre- and post-transition planning and oversight is sufficient to maximise benefits, mitigate risks and ensure continued visibility and delivery of the Trust's performance and quality objectives.
- To lead the operational implementation of the EPR to ensure that this is fit for purpose and enables the delivery of flexible, efficient, effective and safe patient care across clinical divisions and support services. Make recommendations to influence programme decisions and initiatives.
- To ensure that throughout the transitional period of the EPR implementation that operational management teams for services across the Trust are supported to achieve the required results.
- Take an active role in the EPR governance structure, acting as the main operational point of contact, and able to reach key decisions quickly and efficiently. This will require a good level of self-determination, achieved through proactive liaison with and understanding of the Trust COOs/Deputy COOs and their priorities.
