Data Scientist (Advanced Analytics)

London / Hybrid (2 days per week) | Up to £65,000

We are partnering with a leading UK data and analytics organisation to recruit a Data Scientist into its growing Data Science team.

The business combines proprietary data, analytical expertise and advanced modelling capabilities to help organisations better understand their customers, predict behaviours and make more informed decisions.

The Role

As a Data Scientist, you will develop and implement predictive models to solve a range of client challenges, with a particular focus on propensity modelling, customer segmentation and behavioural analytics.

Working alongside industry specialists, project managers and data analysts, you will be involved throughout the project lifecycle, from understanding client requirements and exploring data through to model development, training and presenting findings.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing predictive models and statistical solutions to address client challenges.

  • Building and refining propensity models, customer scorecards and segmentation models.

  • Analysing complex datasets to identify trends, patterns and actionable insights.

  • Working with stakeholders to understand business requirements and participate in data discovery sessions.

  • Training, testing and optimising models to improve performance and accuracy.

  • Translating analytical findings into clear recommendations and presenting these to clients.

  • Working collaboratively with Data Analysts, Project Managers and subject matter experts.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a commercially minded Data Scientist with strong analytical capabilities and an interest in applying data science to real-world business problems.

You will ideally have:

  • Strong commercial experience in a Data Science or Predictive Analytics role.

  • Excellent Python and SQL skills.

  • Experience developing predictive models, particularly propensity or behavioural models.

  • A good understanding of statistical modelling, machine learning and data analysis techniques.

  • Experience working with large and complex datasets.

  • The ability to communicate technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Confidence presenting insights and engaging directly with clients.

Desirable: Experience with Databricks and Azure cloud environments.

The Opportunity

You'll join an established Data Science function within a well-regarded data and analytics business, working across a diverse client base and a variety of interesting modelling projects.

The role offers a blend of hands-on technical development, analytical problem-solving and client interaction, providing the opportunity to develop your modelling expertise while seeing the direct impact of your work.
