IT Technician - Mobile

Your new company
You'll be joining a large, established and forward-thinking multi-academy trust with a network of over 60 schools across England and a strong commitment to providing the best possible opportunities for its pupils and communities. The organisation places real value on its people, creating a supportive and collaborative culture where colleagues can share expertise, learn from one another and feel part of a wider team. As an employer, the Trust has a strong focus on staff wellbeing, work-life balance and creating a supportive working environment, alongside investing in the long-term development of its people. Employees benefit from an extensive approach to learning and development, including professional learning, apprenticeships, accredited and in-house training, coaching and mentoring, with clear opportunities to develop and progress within a large national organisation. With schools and teams working collaboratively across the Trust, this is an excellent opportunity to join an organisation that can offer variety, flexibility and genuine scope for future career progression, while contributing to services that make a tangible difference to schools, staff and pupils.
Your new role
As an IT Technician, you'll provide hands-on technical support across a cluster of 8 primary schools spanning Dagenham, Barking, Ilford and Walthamstow. This is a varied, multi-site position where you'll become a familiar and trusted IT presence within the schools you support, working with staff and pupils to ensure technology runs reliably and effectively. A full UK driving licence and the ability to travel between sites are therefore essential. You'll deliver first and second-line IT support, troubleshooting hardware, software and connectivity issues, supporting Windows devices and Microsoft 365, and assisting with the setup, deployment, replacement and maintenance of IT equipment. You'll also support classroom technology and local infrastructure, responding to incidents and escalating more complex technical issues to senior colleagues where required. Alongside day-to-day support, you'll have the opportunity to get involved in IT rollouts, technology refreshes and wider improvement projects across the schools. It's an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and working with people, and who wants to continue developing their technical skills within a supportive, larger IT function. Please note this role is on site 5 days a week.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you will have a passion for working in IT, coupled with a strong interest in working in the education sector. Experience working in IT would be beneficial, particularly experience providing IT support in the education sector working with schools, staff and pupils. A strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 is required, as well as a committed approach to developing your own learning further. Please note, as this is a role where you will be travelling across multiple sites, you must have a valid UK driving licence and your own vehicle.
What you'll get in return
In return, you will be offered a competitive salary between £28,000 and £30,400, plus an additional £2,000 each year and the opportunity to work with this flexible and people-focused employer. The trust places a real emphasis on staff wellbeing, work-life balance and long-term career development. There are excellent opportunities for training, professional development and progression, allowing you to build your skills and explore future career opportunities across a large and supportive organisation. Employees also benefit from the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS), access to an online GP service, Perkbox, a Cycle to Work scheme, Blue Light discounts, and an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) which includes up to six free counselling sessions. Combined with a supportive working culture and a genuine investment in its people, this is an organisation where you can develop your career while benefiting from a strong overall employment package. The holiday offering for this role is 29 days (plus bank) and also rises to 32 with continuous service.
