Senior AI /SharePoint Engineer

You will be working for a known organisation. The role is remote working and is a 3-month contract. The daily rate is £480 per day inside IR35.
Your new role
Objective: Lead the technical build of an enterprise AI evidence discovery pipeline across ~1,500 SharePoint artefacts (emails, contracts, risk logs) across ~60 nested folders using Model Context Protocol (MCP) to standardise LLM tool integration.
Core ResponsibilitiesMCP Server & Tooling Implementation: Design and deploy custom MCP Servers exposing SharePoint Online/Microsoft Graph endpoints and Azure AI Search capabilities as standard MCP tools/resources for LLM hosts and agents.SharePoint Ingestion & Ingest Pipelines: Build secure, recursive Graph API routines to extract documents, emails, and attachments, feeding structured metadata and raw content into the indexing and MCP tool pipelines.Agentic GenAI & RAG Architecture: Implement agentic decision-making using MCP, structured document chunking, prompt engineering, and Azure OpenAI to execute multi-step evidence discovery with explicit source citations.Enterprise Hybrid Search: Integrate Azure AI Search into the MCP tool ecosystem, using hybrid vector/semantic search to retrieve evidence on complex themes (e.g., contractual liabilities, migration risks).Security & Permission Control: Apply Entra ID authentication, OAuth scopes, and permission-aware retrieval to ensure MCP servers enforce least-privilege access based on user identity.Production Engineering: Deliver production-ready code with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, structured logging, operational runbooks, and mentorship for the Junior Engineer.Technical Capability Matrix
