The Opportunity
We are partnered with our client on a sole agency basis, who is an established and growing technology organisation operating within a highly regulated sector, is seeking an experienced Interim Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead two business-critical technology transformation programmes who has experience working within the healthcare sector.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director and working closely with the executive leadership team, you will take ownership of a major cloud migration programme alongside the separation and modernisation of complex technology infrastructure and operating environments.
This is an excellent opportunity for an accomplished technology leader with extensive experience in AWS cloud transformation, legacy infrastructure modernisation and complex IT separation programmes, who can combine strategic leadership with technical credibility and a delivery-focused approach.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic direction and delivery of a major on-premises to AWS cloud migration, transitioning business-critical applications and services into a modern, secure and scalable cloud environment.
• Oversee the modernisation of legacy technology platforms into next-generation cloud-based solutions.
• Develop and execute a comprehensive technology separation strategy, removing dependencies on shared infrastructure, hosting environments and IT services.
• Provide technical leadership across cloud architecture, infrastructure, systems integration, cybersecurity and operational resilience.
• Work closely with senior stakeholders, engineering teams and external technology partners to ensure successful delivery against agreed milestones.
• Identify and manage technical dependencies, transformation risks and operational challenges.
• Establish robust technology governance and delivery frameworks, providing regular progress reporting and assurance to executive leadership and board stakeholders.
• Oversee technology budgets, supplier relationships and resource planning.
• Ensure technology solutions meet relevant security, data protection and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Support the development of a longer-term technology roadmap aligned with business growth and strategic objectives.

Essential Experience

• Previous experience delivering IT separation, technology carve-outs, infrastructure disentanglement or establishing independent technology operating environments is essential.
• Experience working within the Health Care sector is essential
• Proven experience operating as an Interim CTO, Technology Director, IT Transformation Director, Cloud Transformation Director or equivalent is essential.
• Demonstrable experience leading complex on-premises to cloud migration programmes, ideally involving AWS is essential.
• Strong technical understanding of cloud architecture, infrastructure modernisation, enterprise systems and technology integration.
• Experience delivering large-scale technology transformation programmes involving business-critical applications and legacy infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity, operational resilience, disaster recovery and technology risk management.
• Experience managing engineering teams, external technology partners and complex delivery programmes.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, including experience reporting directly to executive leadership teams and boards.
• Ability to combine strategic technology leadership with technical credibility and a pragmatic, delivery-focused approach.
