SC User Researcher

User Researcher (SFIA 4)
Location: Remote
Clearance: Active SC Clearance (or recently lapsed)
Contract: Until March 2027
Rate: £475 per day (Inside IR35)

iO are looking for User Researchers to support a major Government transformation programme, helping teams better understand user needs and improve public services.

Key responsibilities include:

• Planning and conducting qualitative and quantitative user research
• Designing and facilitating interviews, usability testing and workshops
• Analysing research findings and translating them into actionable insights
• Communicating research outcomes to delivery teams and stakeholders
• Working closely with Service Designers, Product Managers and Delivery teams
• Supporting service teams through discovery, Alpha, beta and live phases
• Championing user-centred design and evidence-based decision making

Key experience required:

• Proven User Research experience within Government, Public Sector or large-scale digital environments
• Strong understanding of GDS methodologies and standards
• Experience conducting user interviews, usability testing and research analysis
• Ability to communicate complex findings clearly and effectively
• Experience working within multidisciplinary agile teams
• Active SC Clearance or a clearance that has recently lapsed

This role offers the opportunity to work on impactful public-facing services within a large Government programme, with long-term contract prospects and remote working.
