Epicor Support Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY:

Own and optimise the organisation’s Epicor ERP and Power BI analytics ecosystem to improve data quality, reporting, and operational performance. This role combines ERP administration and enhancement (Epicor Kinetic/v10+) with enterprise-grade BI development (Power BI, DAX, Power Query) to deliver scalable, trusted insights and drive process efficiency across Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, and Commercial teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1) Epicor ERP Administration & Enhancement

  • Administer Epicor environments (live, test), user management, security roles, and permissions.
  • Build and maintain BAQs, BPMs, E10/Kinetic dashboards, UD fields, and Method Directives.
  • Design and maintain Epicor workflows for core processes (Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, Plan-to-Produce).
  • Develop/maintain SSRS and Epicor-native reports, forms, and labels.
  • Oversee upgrades/patching; coordinate testing, change control, and release notes.
  • Troubleshoot incidents; manage tickets and vendor escalations; ensure SLAs are met.

2) Data & Analytics (Power BI)

  • Design scalable semantic models (star schema), datasets, and DAX measures for self-service and corporate reporting.
  • Build and govern Power BI reports, dashboards, and apps with row-level security and data certifications.
  • Implement robust Power Query (M) transformations and data quality rules.
  • Manage Power BI Gateway and refresh schedules; optimise dataset performance.
  • Promote adoption via documentation, training, and reusable templates.

3) Integrations & Data Platform

  • Develop/maintain integrations between Epicor and other systems (CRM, WMS, EDI, e‐commerce) using REST/SOAP, Epicor Service Connect, or APIs.
  • Collaborate with Infra/Data teams on SQL Server (T‐SQL, views, stored procedures), and, if applicable, Azure data services (Data Factory, Synapse/Fabric).
  • Implement error handling, monitoring, and incident recovery for data pipelines.

4) Governance, Controls & Compliance

  • Establish data definitions, lineage, naming standards, and RLS/security controls.
  • Maintain SOX/GDPR-ready audit trails for report changes and user access.
  • Lead UAT, documentation, and training for new features and releases.

5) Business Partnering & Continuous Improvement

  • Translate stakeholder requirements into technical designs and delivery roadmaps.
  • Identify process bottlenecks; propose Epicor or BI-led automation and standardisation.
  • Run training for power users and create SOPs, quick-start guides, and FAQs.

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst Associate, Epicor product certifications) are a plus.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Essential:

  • 3–5+ years working with Epicor ERP (Kinetic or v10+) across core modules (at least two of: Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing/Production, Planning/MRP).
  • Strong hands-on with BAQ, BPM, method directives, dashboards, SSRS, and form customisations.
  • Advanced Power BI: data modelling (star schema), DAX, Power Query, RLS, performance tuning, and deployment via workspaces/apps.
  • Solid SQL/T‐SQL skills; familiarity with SQL Server performance concepts (indexes, query plans).
  • Experience with APIs/REST/SOAP and integrating ERP with external apps.
  • Proven stakeholder management; can gather requirements, challenge constructively, and deliver to deadlines.
  • Strong documentation, testing discipline, and change management.

Desirable:

  • Epicor certifications; experience with Epicor Functions, Service Connect, ECM/DocStar, QuickShip, or MES.
  • Knowledge of Azure (Data Factory, Synapse/Fabric, Azure SQL) or on‐prem ETL tooling.
  • Power Platform exposure (Power Automate/Apps) for light workflow solutions.
  • Manufacturing planning concepts (BOM, routing, WIP, scheduling, MPS/MRP) or inventory/costing knowledge.
  • Experience with DevOps/Jira, Git source control, CICD for Power BI (Fabric/DevOps pipelines).
