Senior Mission Systems Engineer
About the Role
We're looking for a highly skilled Senior Mission Systems Engineer to join a team developing advanced onboard computing solutions for a cutting-edge aerospace programme. You will work on secure, resilient systems, contributing to designs that directly impact critical mission systems.
You'll collaborate with a multi-disciplinary engineering team, helping to define system architectures, integrate hardware and software solutions, and ensure designs meet technical, operational, safety, and security requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Support system-level design and architecture for onboard computing solutions.
- Collaborate across internal and external teams, including international partners, to ensure designs are robust and aligned with programme objectives.
- Develop, simulate, and verify digital logic using VHDL as a core part of system modeling and design.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to less experienced team members.
- Apply systems engineering principles to support safety, security, and regulatory compliance in complex aerospace or mission-critical systems.
- Represent the team in meetings with stakeholders, contributing to effective collaboration and problem-solving.
Required Skills and Experience
- Degree (or equivalent) in a STEM discipline.
- Proven experience in Systems Engineering and the engineering lifecycle, ideally in aerospace, avionics, or complex computing systems.
- Strong VHDL experience is essential; Verilog or Simulink experience is also desirable.
- Experience with hardware/software integration, modeling, and simulation.
- Familiarity with Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA), system safety, security, or complex platform integration is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills; ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience working on high-security or classified projects is advantageous.
Why Join?
You'll be part of a collaborative, forward-looking team delivering mission-critical systems in aerospace. You'll have the opportunity to apply your VHDL expertise and systems engineering skills to innovative solutions, working with leading engineers nationally and internationally.
