Infrastructure Engineer – Milton Keynes (Hybrid) – SC or DV Cleared

Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen with a global brand for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to support, maintain, and enhance core infrastructure services across a complex enterprise environment. The role focuses on ensuring high availability, resilience, and security of systems while contributing to strategic infrastructure upgrades and improvement initiatives. SC or DV Clearance is required.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain critical infrastructure systems, ensuring stability, performance, and compliance
  • Manage hardware, software, networks, and server environments across hybrid on-prem and cloud estates
  • Implement upgrades, patches, and configuration changes following best-practice standards
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues, providing 3rd-line diagnosis and resolution
  • Collaborate with security, architecture, and project teams to deliver infrastructure improvements
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and configuration records
  • Proactively monitor systems and identify opportunities for performance and security enhancements

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience supporting enterprise-scale infrastructure environments
  • Strong knowledge of server technologies, storage, AD, networking, and virtualisation platforms
  • Experience with cloud technologies (e.g., Azure or AWS) and hybrid infrastructure models
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues under pressure
  • Familiarity with automation and scripting tools advantageous (PowerShell, Python, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of ITIL processes, incident, change, and problem management
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Requires DV Clearance (or SC with eligibility for DV)
