Job Summary
This role partners closely with business stakeholders, Product Owners, Systems Analysts, and technical teams to translate business needs into scalable solutions. The Business Analyst leads requirements gathering, drives process optimization, performs light declarative configuration, and ensures delivered solutions maximize business value, usability, and user satisfaction. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent stakeholder engagement, a solid understanding of declarative capabilities, and experience working in Agile delivery environments.
Key Responsibilities
1. Requirements Gathering & Process Analysis
- Proactively engage with end-users, business leaders, and key stakeholders to understand strategic goals, operational challenges, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Facilitate discovery sessions, workshops, and interviews to elicit functional and non-functional requirements.
- Analyze and document current-state (as-is) and future-state (to-be) business processes, workflows, data models, reporting requirements, and system dependencies.
- Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities within existing business processes and implementations.
- Translate business requirements into clear, well-structured documentation, including business requirements documents (BRDs), functional specifications, and process flow diagrams.
- Work within an Agile framework to decompose high-level business needs into detailed User Stories with clearly defined Acceptance Criteria, collaborating closely with the Product Owner and delivery team.
2. Solution Design & Configuration
- Partner with the Systems Analyst and technical team to ensure alignment with documented business requirements, technical standards, and platform best practices.
- Validate that proposed solutions are feasible within Salesforce’s declarative and technical capabilities.
Independently perform light declarative configuration and platform administration tasks, including but not limited to:
- User and access management (profiles, permission sets, role hierarchy considerations).
- Creation and maintenance of custom and standard fields, objects, page layouts, and
record types.
- Configuration of basic automation such as Workflow Rules, Validation Rules, Process
Builder and Flows.
- Support solution design decisions by providing business context, usability considerations and impact analysis.
- Ensure configurations are well-documented and aligned with organizational for standards.
3. Quality Assurance, Testing & Platform Readiness
- Define and develop comprehensive test scenarios and test cases aligned to business
requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Coordinate and lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities, including test planning, execution support, defect tracking, and stakeholder sign-off.
- Validate that delivered solutions meet business expectations, functional requirements, and user experience standards.
- Partner with technical teams to triage, document, and support the resolution of defects identified during testing and post-production.
- Prepare the organization for changes by sharing release highlights, risks, and recommendations with internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of processes, documentation, and governance practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 8-10+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Functional Analyst, or similar role, preferably within a Salesforce environment.
- Hands-on experience with declarative configuration (fields, objects, page layouts, flows, workflows, validation rules).
- Strong experience gathering, documenting, and translating business requirements into functional solutions.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and user story development.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting UAT and release management activities.
- Experience working in cross-functional, multi-team environments.
