Senior Citrix / VDI Engineer (PowerShell & CI/CD) - Sheffield (Hybrid)

Senior Citrix / VDI Automation Engineer – PowerShell & CI/CD Location: Sheffield (3 days per week onsite) Day Rate: £350 per day IR35 Status: Inside IR35 We are looking for an experienced Citrix / VDI Automation Engineer with strong PowerShell scripting and CI/CD experience to support, optimise and automate enterprise virtual desktop infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have a solid Citrix engineering background combined with hands-on automation and DevOps skills.

We are particularly interested in engineers who combine strong Citrix/VDI expertise with hands-on PowerShell automation and CI/CD capabilities.

Key Responsibilities Manage and optimise Citrix CVAD/DaaS, NetScaler/ADC and VDI environments.

Develop PowerShell scripts to automate infrastructure operations and reduce manual tasks.

Support VMware, OpenShift and Windows 365 environments.

Troubleshoot VDI performance, image provisioning (MCS/PVS) and infrastructure issues.

Use automation and AI tools, including Microsoft Copilot, to improve operational efficiency.

Required Skills & Experience 5–7 years' experience in desktop virtualisation, including Citrix XenApp, NetScaler, VMware and Windows 365.

Strong hands-on PowerShell scripting and automation experience.

Experience with Jenkins, Ansible and CI/CD/DevOps practices.

Knowledge of VMware/OpenShift, vCenter, Windows Server 2016/2019, TCP/IP and VPN gateways.

Familiarity with Active Directory, Intune, MECM, IAM tools and related Microsoft technologies.

Strong troubleshooting, communication and problem-solving skills.

Experience working in large enterprise environments and collaborating with technical teams.

Desirable: Python scripting, Microsoft Copilot/AI automation and Agile delivery experience.
