IT Security Consultant
Microsoft Security Consultant | Home-based, 1 day a week in the office | £65,000 + bonus + package Apply promptly! A high volume of applicants is expected for the role as detailed below, do not wait to send your CV.
I'm working with a Microsoft Solutions Partner that is looking for a Security Consultant to join its growing consultancy team. It's a small, well-regarded business delivering Cloud, Security, Business Apps, Managed Services and AI projects, and the security practice is where they're investing.
This is a delivery role. They need someone who has implemented Microsoft security solutions for real organisations, not just administered or supported them. If you've taken Sentinel, Defender XDR or Entra ID from design through to go-live, this is the role for you.
The role is home-based, with one day a week at their [location] office to work alongside the team.
The package
Salary of up to £75,000
Bonus
Solid Package
Exam costs covered, so you can keep your certifications current
A defined route to Senior Consultant and Architect level. I can talk you through how this has worked for people already there.
The role
You'll lead hands-on delivery of customer security and identity projects, working with architects, engineers, SOC analysts and project managers. Day to day that means:
Implementing and tuning Microsoft Sentinel and Defender XDR
Designing and deploying Entra ID controls, including Conditional Access, PIM, Identity Governance and Entra GSA
Configuring Intune security baselines and hardening endpoints and servers
Running security assessments and delivering the remediation
Migrating customers from third-party security tools onto the Microsoft stack
Automating with Logic Apps, PowerShell and KQL
Supporting the SOC with incident investigation and escalations
Writing high-level and low-level design documentation
What you'll need
Solid, proven implementation experience of Microsoft security solutions in customer or enterprise environments, with end-to-end project delivery you can talk through in detail
Around 3 years' hands-on Microsoft security, identity or endpoint engineering
Practical Sentinel deployment and tuning (data connectors, analytics rules, workbooks) and Defender XDR rollout
Strong Entra ID implementation experience (Conditional Access, PIM)
KQL and PowerShell skills
Confidence working directly with customers
Helpful, but not essential
Logic Apps, Microsoft Graph, Azure Lighthouse and Azure Policy
Exposure to Cyber Essentials, CIS or Zero Trust frameworks
SC-200, SC-300 and AZ-500 (or SC-100). If you're part-way through these, still get in touch.
This isn't a monitoring or support-only position, so if your background is mainly SOC operations or day-to-day administration, it may not be the right fit. If you've got strong implementation experience but are missing a certification or a tool on the list, I'd still like to hear from you.
Interested? Send me your CV or message me and I'll come back to you within 24 hours. xehkeey I'm happy to share the client's name and answer questions on a confidential call before you decide anything.
