About the role
We are working with a large, well-established housing association in Birmingham. They’re looking for a Senior Technical Systems Analyst to join their Digital Services team.
You’ll sit in the Service Transition team and be the technical expert who makes sure new and changed systems go live smoothly and stay reliable. You’ll own the change schedule, manage system upgrades and patches, and lead UAT with business users. You’ll also play a key part in keeping the organisation’s housing management system resilient.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced application support or systems analyst who wants a senior role with real influence over how technology is delivered across a social purpose organisation.
What you’ll be doing
- Planning, testing and deploying technical changes through formal change management, and reviewing any failed changes
- Managing system upgrades and patches, and coordinating UAT with business users, including writing and maintaining test scripts
- Carrying out operational readiness assessments so that new services can be supported, are reliable and can be maintained before they go live
- Planning releases and deployments for new features and functionality
- Maintaining configuration records covering key systems, interfaces and third-party suppliers
- Supporting disaster recovery planning and testing for the housing management system
- Acting as a technical expert on digitisation projects, and working with software vendors on product roadmaps, including attending user groups
- Handling second-line Service Transition tickets alongside the Service Desk and Infrastructure teams
- Producing documentation and training for users, and leading continuous improvement in Service Transition processes
What you’ll bring
- At least 3 years in an application support, service transition or systems analyst role
- Experience working in an ITIL or IT service management environment
- SQL scripting and SSMS, and experience building reports in SQL Server and SSRS
- Experience maintaining test environments, plus a good understanding of the software release lifecycle
- An understanding of systems architecture, and the ability to spot single points of failure
- Working knowledge of Office 365 and cloud services
- Strong analytical skills, and the ability to turn business needs into technical requirements
Nice to have
- ITIL Foundation certificate
- System administration experience on housing management systems such as NEC/Northgate, MRI, Civica CX, Open Housing or Aareon QL
- Experience leading system upgrades and coordinating UAT
- Power BI, Azure, or Microsoft certifications
