My client is a London-based Managed IT and Cybersecurity Services Provider, supporting businesses across financial services, professional services and other sectors. As we continue to invest in AI, automation and digital transformation, we are looking for an ambitious AI & Automation Engineer to play a key role in shaping how technology transforms our business and our clients' operations.

This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on developer who wants to go beyond traditional software development, working across AI, systems integration, workflow automation and full-stack development. You will have the autonomy to identify opportunities, develop innovative solutions and make a measurable business impact.

The Role

Working closely with internal teams, external technology partners and clients, you will identify, design and deliver intelligent solutions that improve efficiency, streamline processes and connect business systems.

Key responsibilities will include:

• AI & Automation: Design and develop automated workflows using platforms such as n8n, integrating AI technologies, LLMs and intelligent agents to reduce manual processes and improve productivity.
• Systems Integration: Connect and consolidate data across SaaS platforms, developing integrations using REST APIs, webhooks and modern authentication methods.
• Software Development: Build and maintain applications, APIs, internal tools and dashboards using Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, React and SQL.
• AI Implementation: Explore and implement AI-powered solutions, including document processing, data extraction, reporting, knowledge retrieval and intelligent assistants.
• Client Projects: Work with clients to identify automation opportunities, support AI readiness assessments and deliver practical, secure and scalable solutions.
• Collaboration: Work alongside internal stakeholders and external development partners, contributing to technical design, project delivery, testing and ongoing improvements.

About You

You will have commercial experience in software development, automation engineering or systems integration, with a passion for exploring emerging technologies and solving business challenges.

Ideally, you will bring:

• Strong JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js development skills.
• Experience with React and modern front-end technologies.
• Good knowledge of SQL databases and data structures.
• Experience integrating third-party platforms using REST APIs, webhooks and OAuth 2.0.
• Familiarity with workflow automation tools, ideally n8n.
• Understanding of Microsoft Azure and cloud application deployment.
• Exposure to AI technologies, LLM APIs and AI application development.
• Experience with Git, testing and modern software development practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Desirable experience: Microsoft Foundry (Azure AI Foundry), Azure OpenAI, AI agents, RAG, Microsoft Graph API, Power BI, Python, Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
