We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Apprentice Software Tester to join our development team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in software testing and quality assurance. You’ll gain hands-on experience working with experienced testers and developers, learning how to ensure the quality and reliability of software products.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and execution of test plans and test cases.
• Perform manual testing of web applications.
• Document and report bugs and issues clearly and accurately.
• Work closely with developers to understand features and resolve issues.
• Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Learn how to use testing tools and methodologies.
• Support the QA team in regression, integration, and system testing.
• Maintain test documentation and contribute to continuous improvement.

Essential

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

• A passion for technology and software development.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Willingness to learn and take initiative.
• GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English.

Desirable

• Basic understanding of the software development lifecycle.
• Familiarity with any programming language (Ideally C#).
• Exposure to testing tools or platforms (e.g., Azure DevOps, Playwright, Swagger, Postman, MS SQL Server).
• Completed or enrolled in a relevant apprenticeship or training program.

Training & Development

• On-the-job training with experienced QA professionals.
• Access to online learning platforms and certifications.
• Opportunities to progress into Junior Tester or QA Analyst roles.
