Data Scientist
Data Scientist (Contract) Remote | £550/day Inside IR35 | 12-Month Contract
We’re currently looking for an experienced Data Scientist to join a leading data organisation on a 12-month contract basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-impact analytical initiatives that directly influence product strategy, customer outcomes, and business decision-making.
You’ll work across large and complex datasets, applying statistical analysis, modelling techniques, and data science best practices to deliver actionable insights. The role also offers exposure to cloud-based analytics environments and modern data platforms such as Databricks.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse large and complex datasets to uncover actionable business insights
- Conduct statistical analysis to support product strategy and operational decisions
- Present analytical findings and recommendations to key stakeholders
- Support customer portfolio analysis, including credit application and risk analysis
- Monitor, evaluate, and improve model performance
- Contribute to research and development initiatives within the data science function
- Support the migration of analytical workflows to cloud-based platforms
- Process, match, and merge large-scale datasets from multiple data sources
- Collaborate with analytics and wider business teams on strategic initiatives
Required Skills & Experience
- Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Quantitative Methods, or similar
- Strong understanding of statistical methods and data analysis techniques
- Experience working with large and complex datasets
- Hands-on experience with cloud technologies, ideally Databricks
- Proficiency in Python, R, or other data science programming languages
- Experience with modelling, scoring techniques, and data mining methodologies
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical findings to non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team

- Contract Length: 12 months
- Rate: £650 per day (Inside IR35)
- Location: Cardiff – Hybrid Working
