Red Hat SME (Enhanced DV Cleared)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Red Hat Subject Matter Expert with Enhanced Developed Vetting (DV) clearance to join our team on a 6 - month contract. This role is critical to supporting secure infrastructure projects within a highly sensitive environment. The successful candidate will provide expert guidance on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems, ensuring compliance, resilience, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the technical authority for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) platforms.
  • Design, configure, and maintain secure Red Hat environments in line with organizational and government standards.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and performance optimization for mission-critical systems.
  • Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and application teams to ensure seamless integration and compliance.
  • Deliver documentation, best practices, and knowledge transfer to internal teams.
  • Support patching, upgrades, and life cycle management of Red Hat systems.
  • Ensure adherence to strict security protocols and operational procedures in a DV-cleared environment.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Enhanced DV clearance
  • Proven expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration and engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of system hardening, security compliance, and patch management.
  • Experience with automation tools (eg, Ansible, Puppet, Chef) and Scripting (eg, Bash, Python).
  • Familiarity with virtualization, containerization (OpenShift, Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud integration.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to operate in high-security environments.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
