Library Customer Service Assistant
Role Overview
We're seeking a customer-focused individual to work with our client to support library, information, and digital services in Solihull. You’ll assist users of all ages in accessing resources, handling ICT queries, and making the most of library facilities. This is a full time role and requires a Basic DBS check.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver friendly, efficient front-line customer service.

Support users with library resources, digital tools, and general ICT issues (e.g. logging in, MS Word, internet, email).

Respond to enquiries in person, by phone, and digitally.

Promote services and assist with events (e.g. Storytime, digital drop-ins).

Operate the library management system and support self-service technologies.

Handle payments, reservations, fines, and sales.

Carry out shelving, stock checks, and basic admin tasks.

Ensure building security in absence of senior staff.

Maintain confidentiality and support special projects as needed.

Experience in a library or public service setting is a plus.
