Senior Software Engineer

Important: All applicants must be able to obtain Security Clearance and must hold British Nationality as their sole / primary nationality.

Working: The role offers flexible working but does require engineers on site for 3-4 days per week and is a on secure site where SC clearance is needed.

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join one of our leading defence clients.

In this team, you will collaborate across Electronic Engineering, Test Centre and Software Engineering to deliver the test capability.

This team facilitate robust and timely test on products and ensure the business continues to provide a decisive military capability.

They are also responsible for developing and supporting software packages that utilise Test Equipment hardware to configure, verify and validate the conformance and quality of the product range from development, through production and into field test scenarios.

The Software Engineer with be joining a multi-disciplined, dynamic, focused and agile team specialising in all aspects of test solution design, including software, hardware, simulation and real-time systems.

Skill and Experience;
A software engineer or electronics engineer with transferable talent into software development for test solutions:

• Strong ability to write software in one of the following languages; C, C++ or ADA and motivated to develop reliable, high performance, standardised and documented software
  
• Excellent analytical and design ability, including review and critical analysis
  
• 'Can do' and flexible approach - you'll enjoy solving technical problems that sometimes extend beyond the bounds of "software"
  
• Keen to work on novel products where the software you produce is time and mission critical
  
• Ability to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders, including Systems Engineering, Electronics and Electrical and Test and Validation
  

Desirable Experience;

• Experience in the Defence or safety regulated environment would be advantageous
  
• Experience in the Naval / Maritime domain would be advantageous.
