A fantastic opportunity has opened for an experienced Configuration Manager to join a leading defence engineering organisation in Stevenage. You'll play a key role in ensuring the controlled application of configuration management (CM) processes that underpin the design, development, and delivery of complex engineering products.

Working across multiple business projects, you'll support and coach project teams to apply robust CM practices that guarantee product data integrity throughout the life cycle - from design through to production and delivery.

• Lead configuration management activities across multiple engineering programmes.

• Support and mentor project CM leads, helping embed best practice and process consistency.

• Develop, review, and deliver configuration management plans, procedures, and documentation.

• Ensure compliance with internal and external configuration standards and regulatory requirements.

• Collaborate with engineering, project management, and quality teams to maintain control of technical data and baselines.

• Drive improvements in CM effectiveness and process maturity across the business.

• Strong background in Configuration Management within engineering, defence, or aerospace environments.

• Excellent understanding of the product life cycle and key project delivery milestones.

• Hands-on experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools such as Windchill (PTC).

• Familiar with configuration control, change management, and documentation best practice.

• Confident communicator who can influence, coach, and collaborate effectively across disciplines.

• CMII certification (or equivalent) is highly desirable.

• Knowledge of project management principles and/or experience delivering CM training would be advantageous.
