MEMS provides a comprehensive medical equipment management service across Basildon, Southend and Mid Essex Hospitals, as well as supporting external clients. Our service covers the full equipment lifecycle, including procurement, acceptance testing, maintenance and servicing, clinical staff training, and the safe decommissioning and disposal of equipment.

  • Carry out planned maintenance and ensure accurate equipment and maintenance records are maintained.
  • Support clinical users with the safe and effective operation of medical devices, providing guidance and training where required.
  • Work closely with clinical teams, technical colleagues, IT and equipment suppliers to resolve issues and maintain service standards.
  • Ensure equipment is ready for deployment from the Medical Equipment Library and respond appropriately to urgent faults involving patient-connected equipment.
  • Monitor stock levels and support the timely procurement of parts and accessories.
  • Prioritise your workload effectively and contribute to audits, quality monitoring and service improvements in line with ISO 9001:2015.
  • Support, supervise and mentor junior MEMS staff while maintaining your own professional development.
