Contract Data Analyst BigQuery - Inside IR35

Location: Manchester - 2 days a week in the office Contract: 3 months (Inside IR35)Day Rate: Competitive (Inside IR35)Start Date: ASAP

I'm seeking an experienced Data Analyst with deep expertise in Google BigQuery to join my clients award winning analytics team on a 3 month contract. You will play a key role in transforming raw data into actionable insights, building scalable data models, and supporting business stakeholders with high-quality analysis.

This role sits inside IR35, and the successful contractor will be engaged via an approved umbrella company.

• Develop, maintain, and optimise BigQuery datasets, SQL queries, and analytical data models.

• Analyse large, complex data sets to produce actionable insights for business and product teams.

• Build automated dashboards in Looker Studio, Tableau, or similar BI tools.

• Collaborate with Data Engineers to improve data quality, pipelines, and structure.

• Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into analytical outputs.

• Create robust documentation and ensure best practices across data governance and security.

• Proven experience as a Data Analyst or BI Analyst in mid-to-large data environments.

• Advanced SQL, with significant hands-on experience using Google BigQuery for analytics at scale.

• Strong data modelling skills (star/snowflake schema, optimisation, partitioning, clustering).

• Experience building dashboards using Looker Studio, Looker, Power BI, or Tableau.

• Proficiency working with large datasets and performance-tuning analytical queries.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex data for non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience with Python for data analysis/ETL.

• Exposure to GCP ecosystem (Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub).

• Experience in an agile product or fast-paced commercial environment.
