Electronics Design Engineer V06664 BAE Broad oak 1-2 days a week on site 24 months contract £60.63 PAYE HOLS £8.82 PAY £81.90 Umbrella Charge £87.55 Typical duties include -Detailed digital circuit design including component selection, evaluation, simulation, schematic capture, and preparing guidance for PCB design teams. Scroll down to find an indepth overview of this job, and what is expected of candidates Make an application by clicking on the Apply button. • VHDL design, code, simulation, test, and integration and embedded IP. • Design verification using a combination of simulation, analysis, and test techniques including support to EMC test houses and customer installations. • Generate design documentation and technical reports. • Interfacing with related disciplines including EMC, systems engineering, mechanical/thermal engineering, Integrated Logistics Support, Safety, Product Data Management, and manufacturing areas. • Adherence to Engineering Lifecycle and contributing to progress, peer, and design reviews. • Take an active role in technical team meetings • Work with embedded software and board design engineers as necessary • Assist in the development of higher level system designs as necessary • Assist in the development of technical requirement specifications • Support system integration activities Knowledge: • Experience of generating component level PCB designs for introduction into volume production. • Significant experience of developing FPGA/CPLD designs • Experience of board-level digital design including processor interfacing, memory devices, PLD interfacing etc. • Experienced in digital interface techniques such as UARTs, SPI, I2C, Ethernet etc. • Experience of design proving, integration, and defect resolution. • Experience of gathering of evidence to support acceptance, fitness for purpose, legislative requirements, and safety. • Able to work within cost and timescale constraints where realistic • Able to estimate cost and timescales of own activities Skills: • Has a good understanding of how own activities integrate into the activities of a design team plus an understanding of the work of the design team. • Has a good understanding of how own design team integrates with other parts of the product design • Has an awareness of how cost and timescale constraints may impact business performance • Is required to make judgements based on own knowledge and experience of similar situations. • Must assess the viability and applicability of solutions, evaluates alternatives based on an understanding of common or previous solutions to problems and analysis of factual information • Requires good communication and diplomacy skills. xehkeey • Must understand detailed technical instructions and be able to communicate complex technical information to others Desirable Skills • Previous experience of operating in a defence or high safety integrity environment. • Experience of ADC/DAC devices and techniques • Knowledge/experience of DSP techniques
