Data Analyst - Plasma
Job summary
The data analyst role plays a key role in leading assurance, audit and governance activities across the project, programme and portfolio team. This sits at the heart of NHSBTs modernisation and transformation agenda, as meaningful data and analysis are key to unlocking insights to drive improvements in donor and patient care through innovative, efficient, and high-quality services.
Main duties of the job
In this role you will provide novel and complex analysis on data gathered by the project, programme and portfolio teams across Plasma and wider Blood Supply supply chain and other parts of NHSBT.Your responsibilities will include:
- Working collaboratively with a wide range of colleagues across NHSBT and external organisations to collect raw data and information required to help improve and leverage our operation.
- Contributing to the development of our business planning and future strategies to improve our overall performance and delivery. Reporting on the data through a variety of mediums in an effective and meaningful and easy to understand way.
- Supporting stakeholders management, answering queries, breating bespoke reports and delivering presentations.
- Developing and enhancing reporting and insights through the development and use of interactive software and various other software solutions.
- Be the owner and gatekeeper for our project, programme and portfolio information front door and be the go to person for our data.
- Help drive understanding through data driven information on how we can improve. You will be required occasionally to travel and spend time away from base, with prior notice.

Person Specification
Qualifications
- Degree plus Post Graduate Diploma both in a statistical/numerate discipline or equivalent experience
Experience
- Experience in the use of analytical, reporting and statistical software, e.g. Power BI, R, SAS, SPSS, S+, Microsoft Access, Excel, SQL server and business objects.
- Experience in using programming language such as SQL, T-SQL, PL/SQL.
- Experience of presenting information in a variety of formats to a wide range of audiences including verbal presentations and written reports.
- Experience of working with Information Technology using Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
