Are you passionate about enhancing lives through data and technology? We're offering a 12-month fixed term until 11 January 2027 Senior Project Manager role within our Identity and Access Management (IAM) portfolio.
IAM enables secure, reliable, and convenient access to patient data for over one million health and social care professionals via the Care Identity Service, overseeing essential national authentication platforms. Our team supports products and services aimed at simplifying and securing authentication, identity verification, and access management for staff.
As Senior Project Manager, you'll be a vital member of our agile delivery team, leading the NHS National Single Sign-On programme and providing maternity cover. You'll drive project delivery, engage stakeholders, and oversee business adoption, ensuring strong support across the full delivery lifecycle. The evolving nature of our programmes means you'll have the flexibility to lead priority projects as needed, contributing to transformation and delivering value for money in planning, commissioning, and service. This role is designed to develop both technical expertise and subject matter knowledge for robust service delivery.
Main duties of the job
The Senior Project Manager you will:
- Identify, clarify, measure, track, and ensure ownership of all project benefits.
- Adapt readily and provide support for new programmes and projects as needed.
- Develop and maintain secure, effective information systems for storing and managing project documentation (including PIDs, dashboards, highlight reports, and risk/issue logs).
- Uphold the highest standards of professionalism in all public interactions with the Programme Office.
- Embed patient and public involvement at every relevant level of decision making.
- Champion best practice by learning from experience and others, and encourage innovation throughout the organisation.
- Contribute to the evolution of project and programme management approaches and working methods across the organisation as part of a Project and Programme Management community of practice.
- Effectively monitor and manage budgets, following all organisational financial policies and procedures.
- Consistently seek value for money and ensure financial balance is maintained.
- Provide timely and accurate financial updates and reports as required.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.

- Recognised Project Management Qualification
Experience
- Pro-actively manage stakeholders, respond to and resolve conflict when this arises through facilitation or other appropriate mechanisms
- Experience of supporting the delivery of projects on time, to quality standards and in a cost-effective manner
- Experience of developing and presenting reports, appraising outcomes, providing progress reports for staff as directed
- Experience of day-to-day team management
Knowledge
- Knowledge of effective matrix approach to working
- Knowledge and proficient use of appropriate information sharing systems
