Main duties of the job
- Write research plans for, and conduct user research for a specific product, service or programme
- Undertake quantitative research activities such as questionnaire design and analysis of quantitative data.
- Undertake qualitative research activities such as interview design, moderation, usability testing, facilitating workshops, contextual enquiry, co-design, ethnographic research.
- Synthesize and present research findings to non - research colleagues.

Earlier this year, the Government announced that NHS England will gradually merge with the Department of Health and Social Care, leading to full integration. The aim is to create a smaller, more strategic centre that reduces duplication and eliminates waste.

Person Specification
Knowledge & Experience
- Specialist knowledge of a range of research approaches including both quantitative and qualitative methodology
- Applied working knowledge of the user centred design process
- Knowledge of appropriate research methods across the user-centred design lifecycle and how to implement them
Skills
- Proven ability to direct others to undertake specified tasks by clearly determining roles and responsibilities, deliverables, milestones and limits for independent decision - making within agreed timescales
- Ability to understand NHS and business issues and uses that understanding to design research that supports the realisation of business objectives
- Ability to analyse and interpret both quantitative and qualitative data and choose appropriate methods to do so
Qualifications
- Qualification or equivalent experience demonstrating proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook)

- Ability to draw out users true feelings and opinions without bias about products and services
