NRW s National Development Planning Advice Service provides advice to Local Planning Authorities and developers, on the potential impacts of development on Wales natural resources and environment.

Work pattern & location:

As an organisation NRW supports flexible working. Each of these roles are offering full time hours (37 a week), they allow for hybrid working and a working pattern suitable for you can be arranged.

The Development Planning team is pan Wales. You will be contracted to the nearest NRW office to your home, where you will be required to attend for meetings and training which will be planned in advance. Your office can be available for regular use as often as you choose offering an agile and flexible work life balance.

Senior Development Planning Advisor

Salary: £35,994 - £39,369 (Grade 6)
Contract type: Permanent appointment to undertake a time-limited role until 31 March 2026. When the post ends the post holder will be managed in line with our redeployment procedures.

Job Description: The post holder will provide the professional and technical expert role within the local Development Planning Team. They will usually case manage the most significant complex and high-profile casework in the team, oversee NRWs advice to Local Development Plans and coach and mentor colleagues. They will contribute their technical expertise and experience not only to the immediate team but also to colleagues across the wider DPAS service and other departments.
