Location: London 2-3 days per week the remainder remote
Role Purpose
Credit and Capital Management (CCM) is on an exciting journey and embarking on a multi-year transformation journey. We are uplifting technology and capability and will be supporting the CIB business to grow their customer base by 500k, grow revenues and creating front office capacity by delivering capabilities to allow clients to self-serve credit products and by moving 60% of todays judgmental lending volumes into an automated or assisted workflow.
The CCM QA AD. will partner with Product specialists across the regions especially within CCM and Group Risk Analytics to ensure models are optimized to serve the CIB franchise and structural market conditions in each region; and lead workstream(s) to drive the build of an industry leading credit platform within the Felis Wholesale Analytics Platform. This will include working in cross-functional teams to implement changes to the technology stack. Further, the role holder will help deliver a global program to build and utilize a set of tools that leverage capital models to optimize our business strategy and understand the risk profile at a deeper level.
You will be required to deliver strong thought leadership and best-in-class credit analytics that will support the frontline in delivering ambitious revenue uplift targets, leverage capital models to optimize business strategy, and enable deeper understanding of the credit risk profile.
Key Responsibilities
Impact on the Business
Through statistical profiling of disperse datasets representing inputs into the return on equity of the business identify opportunities to optimise one or more aspects of profitability metrics with a focus on product pricing
Provide commercially driven thought leadership into the design and calibration of the relevant credit framework
Partner with client facing teams in the design of capital & resource efficient products ensuring the tooling is available to monitor the performance of those products
Support efforts to drive culture change across the organisation to embed quantitative tooling in to increasingly automated processes in asset classes that are becoming technology driven in the marketplace.
Customers / Stakeholders
Liaise with relevant stakeholders within CCM, Group Risk Analytics; and wider stakeholders across the Global Businesses and Global Functions (e.g. IT, Wholesale Data, Treasury, Finance etc)
Act as trusted advisors, partnering with stakeholders and providing constructive challenge.
Contribute towards the Strats hub organization approach sharing SME expertise / knowledge and connecting disparate teams.
Leadership & Teamwork
Demonstrate strong communication and influencing skills across peers, management, and colleagues, locally and globally; identifying and removing barriers to change.
Effective time-management and prioritization, with appropriate and timely escalation for support as required.
Influence priorities of collaborating teams and stakeholders to ensure projects and initiatives are executed on plan.
Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects HSBCs brand.
Comfortable working in an agile environment.
Operational Effectiveness & Control
Ensure projects adhere to HSBCs Operational Effectiveness & Controls policies.
Comply with all required internal policies and external rules or laws, considering all the relevant policies and rules applicable to any given business process.
Ensure all team members are aware of their obligations regarding internal policies and external rules including those relevant to data access and control, money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions and other reputational risks.
Experience
Minimum of 5-10 years broad-based banking experience in financial services with preference for those who have focused on credit, rates or cash management markets.
Highly numerate with hands on knowledge of coding languages e.g. Python, C++; and strong experience with software development.
Strong commercial acumen and execution capabilities, with experience in a Strats / quant / analytics / data function.
Experience with financial data and data analytics.
Motivated quick thinker with innovative problem-solving skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience of preparing and presenting recommendations to senior management and other stakeholders.
Result oriented and team player who can foster strong and collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders.
