Lead Instrumentation & Controls Engineer TLNT1 NI
Lead Instrumentation, Controls & Automation Engineer Location: Belfast How often do you get the chance to help design the control systems for an entirely new manufacturing facility, rather than simply maintain what's already there? NOVO People are working with an innovative, ambitious engineering and technology business in Belfast, currently preparing for a significant period of investment and expansion. With plans progressing for a major new manufacturing facility, we're looking for a Lead Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to play a key role in shaping the company's engineering future. This isn't your typical Instrumentation, Controls or Automation Engineering role. You'll initially take ownership of instrumentation, automation and control systems within the existing operation, but the real opportunity lies in what's coming next. As the business expands, you'll be heavily involved in developing the control philosophy, automation strategy and engineering systems for a new, much larger facility. It's a genuine opportunity to influence how things are designed and built, rather than simply inheriting established systems. What You'll Be Doing Taking technical ownership of PLCs, SCADA, instrumentation and control systems. Improving plant reliability, automation and process performance. Supporting commissioning and upgrades to existing control systems. Playing a key role in the design and development of systems for the new facility. Working with engineering partners and suppliers on equipment selection, system integration and automation. Developing control philosophies, technical specifications and engineering standards. Supporting future commissioning and project delivery. What We're Looking For Strong experience in PLC programming, instrumentation and industrial controls. Background in process manufacturing, water/wastewater, chemical processing or a similar industrial environment. Relevant electrical, instrumentation or automation engineering qualifications. Experience with SCADA, troubleshooting and control system improvements. A proactive, technically capable engineer who enjoys solving problems and taking ownership. Experience in system design, commissioning or capital projects would be advantageous. Full details will be discussed upon application. All conversations will be handled in the strictest confidence. Novo People Ltd is an Equal Opportunities employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all candidates. All qualified applicants will receive consideration regardless of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or age.
