Software Engineer TLNT1 NI
Software Engineer (Java / Spring) Ocho People | Technology Recruitment At a Glance Mid to senior Java engineer role at a large, established global business Java and Spring, with Angular and AWS cloud native work as the programme grows A genuine route into AWS for strong Java developers, with no heavy cloud experience needed Craigavon based: on site for the first six months, then hybrid Salary up to £60,000 Why This Organisation Stability is rare right now. This is a large, established global business doing meaningful, regulated work that supports some of the biggest names in global healthcare. They are in the middle of a major digital transformation. A brand new client portal is being built from scratch on AWS, the first of its kind for the business, and the long term aim is to bring all of their systems together into one platform. The hiring process is lean and refreshingly human. There is no technical test and no pair programming. They care far more about how clearly you think and communicate than whether you can recite the Java library. The Role and What It Can Do For Your Career This is a Java and Spring role at the heart of the applications that keep the business moving, while colleagues move across to the new portal build. You will build, support and improve business critical systems, working with Angular and AWS as the product evolves. For a strong Java developer, the career value is the route into cloud native work. AWS experience is a bonus rather than a requirement, so you can build one of the most in demand skill sets in the market without already having it. You will also be learning a sector that takes time to understand, which makes you harder to replace. A note on working pattern: the first six months are on site in Craigavon five days a week. After that it moves to hybrid, with five office days per fortnight. Key responsibilities: Design, build and maintain Java and Spring applications that support business critical operations Contribute to Angular front end and AWS cloud native work as the programme grows Support and improve existing applications while the wider portal build moves forward Work with colleagues and stakeholders to understand the business and explain technical decisions clearly What you will need: Strong Java development experience, with Spring, at mid to senior level The ability to explain your thinking clearly, as you will talk through technical questions and whiteboard in interview Comfortable working on site in Craigavon five days a week for the first six months Angular or AWS experience is a bonus, not essential Why You Should Apply Now A brand new, high visibility portal, a stable employer and a route into AWS do not often come together in one role. The process is quick: a 30 minute screening call, then a one hour interview. Salary up to £60,000. We are also hiring experienced Oracle PL/SQL and Forms developers for the same team, so get in touch if that is you.
