Full Stack Web Developer
We are looking for an experienced freelance Web HMI Developer to assist with the development, integration, security, and maintenance of web-based Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs) for presenting and visualising data stored in SQL databases.
The role involves developing data-driven user interfaces using Angular, working with SQL databases, configuring and managing Apache web servers, developing and maintaining PHP applications, implementing reliable computer-to-computer database synchronisation, and maintaining appropriate security measures and digital certificates.
The successful candidate will have strong database development skills, a thorough understanding of web server configuration and management, practical experience with application and communications security, and good working knowledge of both Windows and Linux operating systems.
We are looking for someone capable of working across the different layers of the application, from database development and backend services through to frontend interfaces, server administration, security, and system integration.
Someone with the following experience:
- Angular Web Development
Strong practical experience developing web applications using Angular.
Ability to work within an existing Angular development environment.
Experience developing responsive, functional, data-driven user interfaces.
Ability to integrate frontend applications with backend services and databases.
Experience developing clear and effective interfaces for displaying operational and numerical data.
- SQL Database Development
Deep knowledge of SQL databases, including database design, development, administration, and optimisation.
Strong understanding of SQL queries, relational data structures, indexing, and efficient data retrieval.
Experience integrating web applications with SQL databases.
Ability to diagnose and resolve database performance, connectivity, and data integrity issues.
Understanding of database relationships and the management of structured datasets.
Experience developing and maintaining database-driven applications.
Understanding of database access controls, permissions, and secure handling of database credentials.
- Apache Web Server and PHP Configuration and Management
Deep knowledge of Apache HTTP Server configuration, administration, and management.
Strong practical experience with PHP development and integration with Apache-hosted web applications.
Experience configuring and troubleshooting PHP applications running on Apache web servers.
Understanding of PHP runtime configuration, extensions, dependencies, and application deployment.
Experience configuring virtual hosts, permissions, reverse proxies, and server-side settings.
Ability to diagnose and resolve web server, PHP application, connectivity, and configuration issues.
Understanding of web server security, performance optimisation, and reliable application hosting.
Experience implementing appropriate security configurations for Apache and PHP applications.
- Computer-to-Computer Database Synchronisation
Experience implementing computer-to-computer database synchronisation protocols and mechanisms.
Understanding of synchronising data between databases hosted on separate computers or systems.
Ability to maintain data consistency and integrity across synchronised databases.
Understanding of synchronisation conflicts, duplicate records, error handling, and recovery from interrupted communications.
Experience developing or configuring reliable data exchange mechanisms between distributed systems.
Ability to troubleshoot database synchronisation failures and communication issues between computers.
Understanding of secure data transmission and authentication between connected systems.
- Windows and Linux Operating Systems
Good working knowledge of both Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems.
Experience configuring and troubleshooting applications and services across Windows and Linux environments.
Understanding of file systems, permissions, networking, and system configuration.
Ability to investigate application, database, and connectivity issues across different operating systems.
Familiarity with command-line tools and system administration.
Experience deploying and maintaining web applications and associated services in Windows and Linux environments.
Understanding of operating system security, access controls, software updates, and secure configuration.
- IT Security and Certificate Management
Good understanding of IT security principles and secure application deployment.
Experience implementing and maintaining SSL/TLS certificates for web
- Data Visualisation and Charting
Experience implementing charts, graphs, historical trends, and other data visualisations using suitable charting libraries.
Ability to present numerical and operational data clearly and effectively.
Experience displaying structured datasets within web-based HMI applications.
Understanding of how to present complex datasets in an accessible and meaningful format.
- JSON and Data Handling
Strong familiarity with JSON data structures and formats.
Ability to parse, transform, validate, and present structured data.
Experience handling data exchanged between frontend applications, backend services, and databases.
Understanding of data structures and formats used to transfer information between different applications and systems.
Awareness of appropriate validation and secure handling of externally supplied data.
