IT Technician Apprentice Part Time
About The Computer People:
The Computer People is a Kent-based IT support company providing friendly, jargon-free help to both home users and businesses. They offer PC and laptop repairs, device setup, networking, Wi-Fi and printer support, remote assistance, and sales of refurbished computers. About the role:
- Diagnose and repair IT equipment at customer’s homes / offices where necessary.
- Pick up / deliver IT equipment for customers where appropriate.
- Investigate and remediate alerts from remote management system.
- Diagnose and repair IT equipment as requested by the Directors.
- External customer visits.
Responsibilities:
- Repair and build PC’s, laptops and other IT devices as requested by the Directors.
- Rebuild and recycle old or redundant IT equipment for resale or reuse.
- Provide remote support to customers.
- Answering the phone and responding to emails and enquiries.
- Attend networking and business development events promoting the business.
Required skills:
- You are required to maintain a positive and professional attitude towards customers, colleagues and 3rd parties at all times and undertake all tasks as appropriate.
- Maintain all premises locations to a tidy and presentable standard at all times.
- Handling and taking of payments in accordance with current cash handling procedures and recording arrangements, notifying a director immediately of any concerns or issues.
- Undertake any other duties at the request of a Director or Manager, dependent upon the post holder’s area of expertise, knowledge, and skills.
- To work at all times in accordance with our policies, procedures, and ethos.
- Driving licence and own vehicle (desirable due to location of the office).
Entry requirements:
- 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
- GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
- Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject
You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.
If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Working hours: 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am - 4pm.
