The Data Technician Assistant Apprentice supports the Data Centre Solution SME in managing and maintaining data centre systems and processes. The role requires professionalism, attention to detail, and adherence to internal and client procedures.
Role
The Data Technician Assistant Apprentice supports the Data Centre Solution SME in managing and maintaining data centre systems and processes. The role requires professionalism, attention to detail, and adherence to internal and client procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Data Centre Solution SME in managing Nlyte system configuration, data integrity, and reporting.
- Assist with onboarding new sites and maintaining accurate asset and infrastructure records.
- Provide technical support and training for internal tools.
- Participate in change management, troubleshooting, and system updates.
- Contribute to documentation, process improvement, and compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Support disaster recovery testing, operational acceptance testing, and cross-team collaboration.
Expectations
- Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and a methodical approach to tasks.
- Complete all mandatory training and maintain system access.
- Escalate issues and risks appropriately.
- Adhere to client and internal processes, including timely reporting and documentation.
- Promote a positive team environment and support knowledge sharing.
Additional Responsibilities
- Perform additional tasks as instructed by Management.
Training
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.
Level 3 Data Technician Apprenticeship Standard qualification, which includes:
- Level 2 functional skills in maths and English (if required)
- End-Point Assessment (EPA)
- You will receive full training and support from Just IT

When individuals complete their apprenticeship, they will have the opportunity to progress.
