Backend Developer (AWS / DevOps)
We’re seeking an experienced Backend Developer to join a high-impact engineering team working on secure, large-scale cloud-based applications. This role is ideal for someone with a strong software development foundation, solid DevOps experience, and deep AWS expertise — particularly with Lambda .
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services within a cloud-native AWS environment .
- Work closely with DevOps engineers to automate and optimize CI/CD pipelines.
- Implement serverless architectures using AWS Lambda and other AWS services.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of system reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Support infrastructure management through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across distributed systems.
Core Skills & Experience
- Strong backend software development background — with proven experience in modern programming languages (Node.js preferred, but open to others such as Python, Java, or C#).
- Hands-on DevOps experience (CI/CD, monitoring, automation, and containerization).
- AWS expertise :
- Essential: AWS Lambda
- Desirable: AWS Connect, API Gateway, CloudFormation, or similar services.
- Sound understanding of software engineering principles, clean code, and secure coding practices.
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
Role Details
- 📍 Location: London or Leeds (Hybrid – approx. 40% on-site)
- 📅 Start Date: October / November 2024
- ⏳ Duration: 6-Month Contract (with strong view to extend)
- 🔐 Clearance: SC Eligible essential – must have 5+ years of continuous UK residency
