Learning Management Systems Advisor

A bit about us

At the RSPCA, we believe animal welfare is everyone's welfare. Join us in creating a better world for every animal. We can do it if we work together — everyone for every animal. Choose a career with us and make a difference.

We are looking for a new team member to join us as an LMS Advisor within our Learning and Development team.

  • Working hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday
  • Location: This vacancy would be homebased with an option to work at our Horsham or London hub.

We're looking for someone who is passionate about digital learning and enjoys finding innovative ways to help people develop their skills and knowledge.

As our LMS Advisor, you'll be the go-to expert for our Learning Management System (LMS), helping us make the most of our digital learning technology. You'll play a key role in improving the way learning is accessed, managed and delivered across the RSPCA, supporting our colleagues, branches and volunteers to take ownership of their learning journeys.

Working closely with colleagues across People & Culture, IT and the wider Society, you'll help us shape the future of digital learning at the RSPCA. From improving our existing platform and creating a great user experience to exploring new technologies and empowering people through self-service, your work will help build a learning culture that supports our people and, ultimately, our mission to rescue and care for animals.

If you're a confident technology user who enjoys solving problems, building relationships and turning ideas into practical solutions, this could be the role for you.

Are you ready to join our movement?

Our recruitment journey – Key dates for you to note

Here's what the process looks like, no surprises, just a friendly guide:

  • Application
  • You'll be asked to answer 3 questions to give us a sense of your experience, skills, and potential. Don't worry if you don't tick every box - what really matters is what you can bring to the role and the team.
  • Panel Interview
  • If your application is successful, you'll be invited to a panel interview with the Hiring Manager. This is a chance to:
  • Share more about what you've done and what you're proud of
  • We encourage you to ask questions about the role, the team, and the impact you could make. Interviews are a two-way conversation, and we recognise that any career move needs to feel right for you as well as for us.
  • Show off your skills and behaviours in a relaxed, supportive setting

If you need any adjustments during the recruitment process, just let us know - we're happy to support you.

What a day might look like for you

Here at the RSPCA, no two days are the same. As an LMS Advisor, your day could include:

  • Making digital learning work better: Managing and improving our Moodle-based LMS, ensuring it meets the needs of colleagues, branches and volunteers across the Society.
  • Creating a great learning experience: Finding ways to make our platform more accessible, intuitive and user-friendly, helping people find and complete the learning they need.
  • Solving problems and supporting our people: Responding to queries, troubleshooting technical issues and working with our LMS provider to resolve challenges and improve the service.
  • Turning ideas into solutions: Working with stakeholders to understand their learning needs and develop practical, scalable digital learning solutions.
  • Using data to make a difference: Producing reports and insights to help us understand how our learning platforms and courses are being used and where improvements can be made.
  • Championing continuous improvement: Exploring new features, testing updates and keeping up to date with digital learning trends to help us get the most from our technology.
  • Helping others build confidence: Sharing your knowledge, coaching colleagues and encouraging a self-service approach so people can manage more of their own learning independently.

You'll also have opportunities to contribute to the wider Learning and Development team, supporting learning design, delivery and facilitation where needed.

What will help you succeed in this role:

  • Knowledge of digital learning design and user journeys, including an understanding of accessibility requirements and WCAG standards.
  • A problem-solving mindset, with the ability to turn business needs and user feedback into practical, effective technology solutions.
  • A continuous improvement approach, always looking for ways to enhance the learner experience and make systems and processes work better.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, enabling you to explain technical concepts clearly and work effectively with people at all levels.
  • Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage competing demands, work independently and use your initiative.
  • Confidence with technology, alongside an interest in emerging digital learning tools, platforms and approaches.
  • A customer-focused attitude, with a friendly, approachable style and a commitment to providing an excellent service.
