They are looking for an experienced Contract Embedded Software Engineer - C/C++ based in Cwmbran, Wales, to play a key role in the development of their next generation of embedded products.
This is a senior, hands-on contract role for an engineer who enjoys getting into the detail. You'll work across complex embedded systems, influence technical decisions and solve challenging software and system-level problems alongside experienced electronics, firmware and software engineers.

What you'll be doing:
- Developing and delivering embedded software solutions using C/C++.
- Working with microcontrollers, RTOS and embedded systems.
- Translating product requirements and feature requests into clear engineering and software requirements.
- Contributing to system and software architecture across complex electronic products.
- Reviewing and challenging designs throughout development, test and delivery.
- Supporting technology and component decisions, including processors and associated hardware.
- Solving complex technical issues across software, firmware and electronics.
- Assessing existing platforms and identifying where new development or architectural changes are required.
- Working closely with electronics, firmware, Product Management, Programme Management, Quality, Manufacturing, Sourcing and Certification teams.
What we're looking for:
- Strong embedded C/C++ development experience.
- Good experience working with microcontrollers and RTOS.
- Proven experience developing software for complex embedded electronic products.
- Strong understanding of the interaction between software, firmware and electronics.
- Experience translating specifications into clear software/system requirements and technical solutions.
- Strong debugging and hands-on technical problem-solving skills.
- The technical credibility to challenge designs and contribute to engineering decisions.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary product development environments.
This contract would particularly suit an experienced Embedded Software Engineer who wants more than a coding-only role and enjoys having genuine influence over how complex embedded products are designed and delivered.
