Electrical Design Engineer
Electrical Design Engineer – Special Purpose Machinery
Location: Leicester
Up to £55 000, depending on experience
Looking for an electrical design role where no two projects are quite the same?
If you've gained experience designing electrical control systems for machinery and want to work on more varied, technically interesting projects, I'd be keen to speak with you.
I'm recruiting for a growing engineering business specialising in bespoke automation and special purpose machinery.
They work across multiple industries, developing solutions to different engineering challenges rather than repeatedly manufacturing the same machines.
The opportunity
You'll play an important role in turning machinery concepts into reliable, functional electrical control systems.
Your work will include:
- Electrical design for bespoke automated machinery and control systems.
- Creating detailed electrical schematics and panel designs using EPLAN.
- Specifying electrical components and producing bills of materials.
- Supporting electrical technicians during the build and wiring stages.
- Ensuring designs meet relevant machinery safety requirements.
- Troubleshooting and supporting commissioning activities.
- Working with engineering colleagues and customers to resolve technical challenges.
The ideal background
You'll have at least 2 years' experience in electrical design or controls engineering for automated machinery, with hands-on EPLAN experience.
A good understanding of control panels, electrical safety systems and machine control requirements is important.
Additional experience with PLCs, control software, robotics or machinery commissioning would be welcome, although the main focus is your electrical design capability.
What's appealing about the role?
Rather than being limited to one part of the design process, you'll be involved in the wider delivery of machinery projects and get to see how your electrical designs perform in practice.
You'll be joining an established engineering team working on bespoke projects with a strong forward order book.
Sound like something you'd enjoy?
Send over your CV or drop me a message. I'm happy to share further details and discuss whether your experience could be a good match.
