Finance Reporting Analyst

We are seeking a Management Information Reporting Analyst to join our team and help design automated processes to deliver reports for each level of stakeholder within the business. The successful candidate will provide key information to heads of departments and managers to aid business improvement, ensuring deadlines are met for board and subcommittee meetings as required.
Day-to-day of the role:- Develop automated processes to produce deliver reports for key stakeholders.
- Create an internal ‘quality score’ scorecard which clearly indicates strengths and areas of improvement within the business.
- Provide reports and key information to head of departments and managers to aid business improvement.
- Run specific queries using raw data to provide factual information for stakeholders.
- Compare actual financial information vs budget to ensure departments are within spending limits.
- Assist finance in producing presentable reports for board packs and meetings.
- Assist finance with the automation of management account information using Power BI, particularly when volumes are involved.
- Automate management account information using Power BI, especially for high volumes.
- Run data volumes and comparisons to highlight market changes, trends, and assist with forecasting.
- Track KPIs and include these in detailed reporting for board and senior management review, communicating these with stakeholders.
- Help assist other employees with reporting queries and provide expert advice on data analysis and the use of Power BI.
- Degree in computer science or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 2+ years working in a finance/reporting role.
- Knowledge of the private medical insurance industry would be essential for this role.
- Proven expertise in Power BI, DAX, and Power Query.
- Experience building data models.
- Experience with Git, Microsoft Fabric & Python preferred but not essential
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of basic business principles & the importance of meeting deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel & PowerPoint.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to problem solve and improve processes.
