Head of PMO

Reed Technology is supporting a growing Microsoft-focused MSP in the search for an experienced Head of PMO.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced PMO leader to join a highly successful Microsoft Professional Services organisation delivering complex digital transformation projects for clients across the UK.

The successful candidate will provide leadership across the PMO function, ensuring projects are delivered consistently, efficiently and in line with client expectations.

We're looking for someone with a strong background within an MSP, IT Consultancy or Professional Services environment, who understands the challenges and pace of delivering multiple client-facing technology projects simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a PMO team comprising Project Managers, PMO Administrators and Change/Business Analysts.
• Establish and drive PMO governance, frameworks, delivery standards and best practices across the organisation.
• Oversee the successful delivery of multiple concurrent client projects within a Microsoft Professional Services environment.
• Work closely with senior leadership to align project delivery with strategic business objectives.
• Ensure effective resource planning, forecasting and utilisation across project teams.
• Drive continuous improvement across project delivery methodologies, processes and reporting.
• Manage project governance, risk, issue and dependency management across the change portfolio.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, clients and delivery teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Provide executive-level reporting and visibility on portfolio performance, delivery health and business priorities.
• Champion Agile delivery principles whilst ensuring appropriate governance and control across the project portfolio.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in a Head of PMO, PMO Manager, Programme Management or Project Delivery leadership role.
• Mandatory background within an MSP, IT Consultancy or Professional Services organisation.
• Experience leading and developing multi-disciplinary project delivery teams.
• Strong understanding of project governance, portfolio management, resource planning and PMO best practices.
• Experience delivering Microsoft-focused projects and programmes.
• Knowledge of Microsoft technologies including Azure, Microsoft 365, SharePoint and Dynamics 365.
• Strong Agile delivery experience with the ability to operate across multiple project methodologies.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience engaging at executive level.
• Commercial awareness with the ability to balance client expectations, delivery quality and business objectives.

Team Structure

• Managing a team of 5 Project Managers.
• Leadership responsibility for 2 PMO Administrators.
• Leadership responsibility for 2 Change / Business Analysts.
