Project Support Officer
A law enforcement organisation based in London are seeking a Project Support Officer to join their ICT Pillar which delivers end-to-end technology solutions for Specialist Operations (SO) and National Counter Terrorism (CT) policing. We manage the full lifecycle of ICT projects, implementing innovative capabilities to support national security and law enforcement partners across the UK.
The Role
We are seeking a Project Support Officer (PSO) to join our dynamic ICT Pillar team. You will play a key role in supporting the delivery of complex IT projects within a high-security environment. Working under the direction of the Programme/Portfolio Lead, you will ensure robust project governance, risk management, and documentation standards are maintained.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to critical national security initiatives while developing your expertise in project and portfolio management.
The successful candidate will need to already hold DV Clearance plus STRAP due to the nature of the role. The role is based in Central London with a daily rate of £350 per day via an Umbrella company (inside IR35), it is an initial 6-month contract position.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate project documentation, reports, and milestone trackers.
- Support risk and issue management, including mitigation planning and lessons learned.
- Provide governance advice and ensure adherence to PMO standards.
- Manage financial tracking, forecasting, and purchase orders.
- Coordinate resource planning and vetting processes.
- Organise and facilitate portfolio meetings, both locally and nationally.
- Support change control processes and impact assessments.
Essential Experience
- Proven experience supporting technology projects in complex stakeholder environments.
- Strong background in Portfolio Delivery or Programme Management Offices.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools.
- Understanding of secure technology projects and programmes.
- Experience managing risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Skilled in document management and handling sensitive information.
- Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Effective stakeholder engagement at all levels.
