QA & Test Engineer

• Job Type: Contract, 12 months
• Location: Hybrid, Central London, 1 day per week onsite
• Clearance: Active SC Clearance required

We are seeking a QA & Test Engineer to support the ongoing development, maintenance and enhancement of a cloud-based occupancy data platform. This QA & Test Engineer position sits within a multidisciplinary Agile team working across cloud engineering, data engineering, systems integration and technical architecture. It is a strong opportunity for a consultant who enjoys testing complex integrations, validating data flows and providing clear, evidence-based quality assurance to support delivery and release decisions.

Day-to-day of the role

• Define and maintain the overall test strategy and quality approach across the platform
• Develop, execute and improve both manual and automated test suites
• Validate platform functionality, APIs, integrations and end-to-end data processing workflows
• Carry out data validation, including transformation logic, reporting outputs and SQL-based checks
• Support sprint acceptance activities with independent quality assurance and clear test evidence
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and support deployment validation
• Investigate defects, perform root cause analysis and work with technical teams to support resolution
• Contribute to technical design reviews to improve quality, testability and coverage
• Support non-functional testing, including performance, resilience and release assurance
• Maintain robust test documentation, traceability, audit evidence and quality metrics

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Active SC Clearance
• Extensive experience in software testing and quality assurance within Agile delivery environments
• Proven experience creating test strategies, test plans and quality assurance frameworks
• Strong hands-on experience building and maintaining automated testing frameworks
• Solid background in API testing, integration testing, regression testing and end-to-end testing
• Python experience and SQL skills for data validation and analysis
• Experience validating complex data flows, transformations and reporting outputs
• Experience integrating testing activities into CI/CD pipelines and modern cloud-hosted environments
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders and produce high-quality assurance documentation
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science or a related discipline
