SAP Developer (BTP)

Hybrid | Birmingham or Northampton (2 days per week)

Up to £55,000 per annum

I'm working with an organisation undergoing a major SAP transformation programme, investing heavily in modern cloud technologies and best-practice architecture. As part of this journey, they're looking to appoint an experienced SAP BTP Developer to help deliver scalable integrations, cloud applications and extensions across their SAP ecosystem.

This is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping a modern SAP landscape, working with technologies including SAP BTP, Integration Suite, Fiori/UI5, CAP and RAP, while promoting a clean-core approach to development.

The Role

You'll be responsible for designing, developing and supporting integrations, extensions and applications on SAP Business Technology Platform. Working closely with technical and functional teams, you'll deliver innovative, secure and maintainable solutions that support critical business processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop solutions on SAP BTP.
• Build and maintain integrations using SAP Integration Suite (CPI).
• Develop integrations across REST, SOAP, SFTP, JDBC and event-driven architectures.
• Create side-by-side extensions and applications using CAP, RAP, Node.js and Java.
• Develop and enhance SAP Fiori/UI5 applications.
• Configure secure connectivity using Cloud Connector, OAuth, certificates and destinations.
• Support integration migration from legacy platforms to SAP BTP.
• Produce technical documentation, design specifications and operational support materials.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging and deployment activities.
• Collaborate with project teams to deliver solutions within agreed timescales.

Skills & Experience Required

• Strong SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) development experience.
• Hands-on experience with SAP Integration Suite (CPI).
• Experience building applications or extensions using CAP and/or RAP.
• SAP Fiori/UI5 development experience.
• Understanding of clean-core principles and side-by-side extensibility.
• Experience integrating SAP S/4HANA with internal and third-party systems.
• Knowledge of SAP BTP security, authentication and authorisation.
• Strong problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.

Desirable Experience

• SAP ABAP development background.
• SAP Event Mesh or event-driven architecture experience.
• Exposure to SAP Build Process Automation.
• Knowledge of SAP Analytics Cloud or SAP Datasphere.
• Experience working within complex or regulated environments.
