SAP S/4HANA Programme Manager (Recovery / Stabilisation) – Contract – London / Hybrid

Robert Half is supporting a major UK organisation undergoing transformation following a recent acquisition. We are seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA Programme Manager to parachute into a complex environment requiring programme stabilisation and recovery leadership. This role is focused on regaining control of an in-flight S/4HANA programme, establishing governance, and driving delivery confidence across stakeholders in a post-acquisition landscape.

Assignment Details

• Initial 6 months contract (strong likelihood of extension)
• Start Date: ASAP (fast-track onboarding)
• Location: Hybrid (1–2 days per week in London)
• Rate: £day via Ltd Company

The Role

This is a senior leadership position suited to someone experienced in complex SAP programme environments, particularly where delivery has faced challenges. The focus will be on stabilisation, recovery, and ensuring a clear path to successful delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Taking ownership of an in-flight SAP S/4HANA programme in a post-acquisition environment
• Leading programme recovery efforts, resetting governance, delivery structure, and timelines
• Identifying risks, issues, and dependencies, and driving resolution at pace
• Engaging senior stakeholders and providing clear reporting and decision support
• Establishing robust programme controls, planning, and delivery disciplines
• Aligning business and technology teams to a unified delivery roadmap
• Restoring confidence across stakeholders and executive leadership

Required Experience

• Proven track record as an SAP S/4HANA Programme Manager delivering complex programmes end-to-end
• Strong experience in programme recovery, turnaround, or stabilisation scenarios
• Experience operating in post-merger or acquisition environments is highly desirable
• Deep understanding of SAP delivery frameworks, governance, and risk management
• Strong stakeholder management skills at senior/executive level
• Ability to bring structure and clarity to complex, fast-moving environments

Nice to Have

• Experience within transport, logistics, or large operational businesses
• Background working in private equity-backed or fast-scaling organisations
• Exposure to global programme environments
