Content Designer

Content Designer - Government & Public Sector

Location: Remote (occasional travel to Manchester and Leeds)
Rate: £400 - £420 per day
IR35: Inside IR35
Contract: Until March 2027

We're looking for experienced Content Designers to support major digital transformation programmes across Government and Public Sector Health.

You'll work within multidisciplinary Agile teams to design and improve accessible, user-centred content across complex digital services.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and improve clear, accessible digital content.

• Apply GDS standards and the GOV.UK Style Guide.

• Use user research, data and insights to inform content decisions.

• Collaborate with User Researchers, Service Designers and Product teams.

• Improve end-to-end user journeys through effective content design.

Essential Experience

• Strong Content Design experience within Government, Public Sector or NHS environments.

• Good understanding of GDS standards and user-centred design principles.

• Experience creating content for complex digital services.

• Strong knowledge of accessibility, plain English and inclusive design.

• Experience working within Agile, multidisciplinary teams.

• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

This is a hands-on delivery role suited to Content Designers with a strong public sector background who are confident working across complex digital programmes.
