SC Cleared Platform Engineer | Kubernetes | Linux/Windows | Secure Environments | Contract Infrastructure | Cloud Services | CI/CD | DevOps Tooling | Defence | SC ClearedSR2 is supporting a consultancy partner on a multi-year programme, and we’re looking for several expereicned Platform Engineers to join the Technical Services team. You’ll be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining secure and scalable hosting environments to support engineering and software development workloads. Working alongside network, security, and platform specialists, you’ll help deliver state-of-the-art digital solutions in a highly regulated defence environment.Key Responsibilities:

• Implement, maintain, and enhance infrastructure hosting for engineering and development environments
• Carry out physical and virtual infrastructure builds (network, storage, compute)
• Configure, optimise, and troubleshoot Linux (RHEL) and Windows Server/Desktop environments
• Contribute to the design and integration of new solutions to meet evolving business needs
• Support CI/CD tooling and containerised workloads (Kubernetes, Docker)
• Ensure environments are aligned with governance, security, and accreditation requirements
• Maintain design documentation and knowledge bases for transparency and collaboration

Skills & Experience Required:

• 3+ years’ experience as a Platform Engineer in secure or regulated environments
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes administration, containerisation, and CI/CD tooling
• Hands-on experience with Windows Server/Desktop and Red Hat Linux (RHEL)
• Proficiency with scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, Python preferred)
• Understanding of network fundamentals (switching, routing, firewalls, VLANs, VNets)
• Experience with VMware, Citrix VDI, and virtualised environments
• Excellent troubleshooting skills with a pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset
• Familiarity with security classifications and Secure by Design principles

Desirable:

• Industry certifications (e.g. CCNA, CCNP, CCDP)
• Experience working with defence programmes or MOD environments

• Rate: Market rate (Inside IR35)
• Location: Hybrid with on-site presence required (secure site)
