This role combines practical data analytics and Power BI skills with strong financial and commercial judgement. You will help teams understand business performance, establish meaningful KPIs and use evidence to make better decisions about growth, profitability, customer engagement and investment.

You will work across product, marketing, sales, finance, operations and data teams, taking ownership of performance questions, developing recommendations and presenting them directly to senior stakeholders. You will need the credibility and confidence to challenge assumptions, build support for your recommendations and influence the actions taken.

Private sector experience is essential, ideally including work connected to a digital product or service. Candidates whose experience is exclusively within the public sector will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

. Develop and maintain performance frameworks across digital products and services, defining KPIs, targets and success measures aligned with business objectives

. Work with business teams to identify the commercial and operational questions they need data to answer

. Analyse customer, product, marketing, operational and financial data to build a connected view of performance across products, channels and markets

. Identify risks, underperformance and opportunities to improve customer acquisition, engagement, retention and profitability

. Translate complex analysis into clear recommendations, explaining the commercial implications and proposed actions

. Present findings and recommendations directly to senior stakeholders, challenge assumptions constructively and build support for action

. Work with finance and business leaders on planning, forecasting, cost analysis and pricing decisions

. Monitor whether agreed actions deliver the expected impact and recommend adjustments where needed

. Improve data quality, reporting practices and the use of performance insight in day-to-day business management

Essential Skills and Experience

. Substantial experience in performance management, performance analysis, business intelligence, data analytics or a related discipline

. Practical experience using Power BI to build and develop dashboards, analyse data and communicate findings

. Strong data analytics and quantitative skills, including the ability to interrogate data and investigate business performance questions

. Experience defining meaningful KPIs, establishing performance measures and evaluating progress against targets

. A track record of personally presenting to and influencing senior stakeholders, including challenging assumptions and securing support for recommendations

. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly to non-specialist audiences

. Ability to work independently across multiple functions and manage competing priorities

. Good understanding of data privacy and security principles

Technical Capability

You will remain directly involved in analysis and reporting, using practical technical skills alongside commercial judgement. Hands-on Power BI experience is essential.

You should be comfortable interrogating data, understanding statistical questions and assessing whether the available evidence supports a conclusion. You will also need to explain what the findings mean for the business and recommend appropriate action.

Additional experience with SQL, advanced Excel, digital analytics platforms such as GA4, or customer and marketing analytics would be beneficial.

Desirable Experience

. Experience working on or supporting digital products and services, particularly within SaaS, subscription businesses or other data-rich environments

. Experience analysing digital product usage, customer behaviour, acquisition, engagement or retention

. Experience analysing pricing, profitability or investment decisions

. Experience with ROI modelling and benefit realisation

Candidate Profile

You should be able to demonstrate where you have identified a business performance issue, established the right measures, investigated the underlying causes and personally influenced senior stakeholders to take action. Strong examples will show the recommendations you made, how you secured support and the impact of the resulting decisions.

Candidates may come from performance management, business intelligence, data analytics, product performance, business operations or strategy and performance backgrounds, provided they can demonstrate the required analytical capability, commercial experience and senior stakeholder influence.

Formal people-management experience is not required. Seniority in this role is demonstrated through independent judgement, ownership and the ability to influence business decisions.
