Test Automation Engineer - SC Cleared

£300 per day - Outside IR35

6-month contract with scope to extend

Central London - 3x days a week

We're seeking a Test Automation Engineer to automate testing for data pipelines, ETL processes and cloud platforms, ensuring data quality and reliability.

Clearance: Active SC Clearance is highly desirable. Otherwise, candidates must be eligible and willing to obtain it.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop automated tests using Python and pytest, supporting BDD (Behave) and TDD in Agile teams.
• Validate and reconcile data, managing test data for ETL and data warehouse testing.
• Build reusable automation frameworks and embed shift-left testing with developers and architects.
• Test AWS, Azure and event-streaming solutions using technologies such as Kafka.
• Contribute to code reviews, CI/CD, testing standards and knowledge sharing.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Test automation experience in data, ETL or data warehousing environments.
• Strong data validation skills, SQL proficiency and relational database experience, such as Oracle.
• Hands-on Python and pytest, plus BDD (Behave ) and/or TDD experience.
• Understanding of ETL, data warehousing and tools such as PySpark.
• Experience with AWS and/or Azure, and familiarity with Kafka and event-driven architectures.
• Knowledge of CI/CD, version control and modern engineering practices.
• Experience building or enhancing automation frameworks.
