Senior Sales Manager

Sastra Group is working with a software development start-up that specializes in a compliance traceability solution.

One of their key hires is a Senior Sales Manager to join the team and drive growth by building strategic relationships, securing new clients, and expanding their footprint across SME and Enterprise businesses. The role requires a mix of strategic selling, relationship management, and SaaS expertise

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a strong sales pipeline targeting SMEs and enterprise clients.
  • Identify and engage prospects needing traceability and compliance solutions (e.g., EUDR, UK Forest Risk Commodities, US FOREST Act).
  • Lead RFP and RFQ responses, coordinating input across internal teams (Sales, Product, Customer Success, Legal).
  • Develop and maintain proposal templates to improve efficiency and consistency.
  • Manage submission timelines to ensure high-quality, compliant proposals are delivered on time.
  • Deliver tailored product demonstrations and presentations to key stakeholders.
  • Drive the full sales cycle — from lead generation to deal closure — including negotiation of pricing and contract terms.
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships to ensure satisfaction and renewals.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform sales strategy and positioning.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align sales strategies with overall business goals.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and report regularly on sales performance and forecasts.
  • Contribute to developing scalable sales processes, playbooks, and best practices.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years’ experience in SaaS technology, consulting, or enterprise sales roles, with a proven record of closing deals and managing client accounts.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience navigating complex B2B sales cycles.
  • Background in selling to supply chain, sustainability, compliance, or procurement teams.
  • Skilled communicator and negotiator, confident engaging with senior stakeholders and C-suite executives.
  • Analytical and consultative selling style, able to translate complex regulatory requirements into clear business value.
  • Fast learner with the ability to understand and communicate technical software concepts effectively.
  • Proactive, results-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
  • Familiarity with regulatory-driven technology adoption; knowledge of the EUDR is a strong advantage.
  • Experience using CRM tools (FreshSales or similar) for pipeline management and reporting.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential; proficiency in an additional European language (Dutch, French, German, Spanish) or Mandarin is highly desirable.
  • Willingness to travel for client meetings, conferences, and industry events as needed.
