What will you be doing?
This is a hands-on infrastructure engineering role ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, technical ownership, and delivering high-quality IT solutions. You'll be responsible for supporting complex client environments, implementing infrastructure projects, and acting as a 3rd-line escalation point for technical issues.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing advanced 3rd-line support and troubleshooting across servers, networks, and cloud platforms.
- Configuring, installing, and managing Windows Server environments and virtualisation platforms (Hyper-V/VMware).
- Implementing and maintaining enterprise-level backup solutions using Veeam.
- Supporting cloud technologies such as Microsoft 365, Azure, and Google Workspace.
- Managing network configurations including DNS, DHCP, VLANs, IP routing, and VPNs.
- Assisting in infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and security deployments.
- Producing detailed technical documentation and contributing to project delivery.
- Acting as a technical escalation point and collaborating closely with senior engineers.
What will you need?
- Minimum 3+ years' experience in IT infrastructure or 3rd-line support, ideally within an MSP.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
- Hands-on experience with Hyper-V and/or VMware.
- Expertise in Veeam Backup & Replication or similar DR solutions.
- Strong networking knowledge (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, routing protocols).
- Experience with cloud-based platforms such as Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, or AWS.
- Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and client communication skills.
What would be desirable?
- Experience with Microsoft Intune, LucidLink, or Egnyte.
- Familiarity with MDT imaging and endpoint protection tools (Defender, Sophos, Bitdefender).
- Exposure to infrastructure migration or virtualisation projects.
- Previous experience mentoring junior engineers or leading technical initiatives.
Certifications (highly desirable):
- Microsoft Certified (AZ-104, MS-102, or equivalent)
- VMware VCP, CompTIA Network+/Security+, or similar vendor certifications
